Designed in 1969 by Verner Panton, the most influential Danish designer of the twentieth century, the Verpan Spiral series of lights are a vivid collusion of colour, shape, light, function and space. The Verpan Spiral SP3 (Silver) is a pendant lamp featuring a triple cluster of corkscrew shaped spirals each suspended from a four ring metal frame. The slightest breath of wind causes the gilt spirals to twist and turn causing an ever-changing myriad of reflected light to dance about the room. The effect is breath-taking. Pure 60s modernism and very much back in vogue, the SP3 (Silver) utilises fine nylon wires connecting the three clusters of spirals to the matching gilt ceiling canopy to confer a sculptural rigidity to the lamp – and prevent tangles. Each unit is engraved with Verner Panton’s signature. Dimensions: Diameter: 48 cm. Height: 220 cm. Cord: 400 cm black fabric. Weight: 21 kg. Bulbs: 3 x E27 (E26) max 100W.
