The Original BTC Hector Bibendum pendant light is designed by Sir Terence Conran to celebrate 100 years of the Michelin building. The shde is reminiscent of a beehive but is inspired by the Michelin mans tyre body. The light is made in the potteries (Stoke on Trent) the ceramic capital of England. The light is made from translucent fine bone china that is expertly made using labour intensive processes. . Raw clay is mixed with water to create the slip and is then poured in to moulds and is then left to set overnight. They are then smoothed with sponges to remove any imperfections. The moulds are then biscuit fires and brushed again before being dipped in glaze then gloss fired for a white finish. The red braided cord measures 150cm and you can adjust it to the height you desire. Sir Terence Conran a British design legend has been using Original BTC lights for over 20 years their can be no higher recommendation than this. It is a great testament to their quality and design.
