Designed by Benny Frandsen in 1969 the Frandsen Ball Wall Lamp is a supreme example of affordable fine design. This wall mounted lamp has a painted metal shade which ingeniously fastens to the matching wall mounting plate using a magnet – this makes them easy to move and they are ideal as reading lights or as bedside lamps. If preferred the lamp can be hard wired in situ, but it comes equipped with a generous length of transparent cord (fitted with an integral on/off switch) which runs through a hole in the mounting plate and can be simply plugged in to a socket. The wipe clean metal shade has a pure white interior to maximise the unit’s luminosity. It delivers useful reinforcement lighting to larger rooms and they work wonderfully in rows along corridors and in larger halls. They also look great in stairwells and add useful extra lighting to staircases. Or try them in the kitchen over a work surface. The Ball Wall lamp completes any décor using the Ball pendant as the main light source, but its discreet modernity – and many available colours – compliments rather than clashes with traditional interiors and it has a classy, timeless appeal. It is available in a range of 12 glossy colours including black, white, light pink, light blue, turquoise, dark purple, pink, lime green, yellow, orange, red , blue. The Frandsen Wall Lamp is also available to buy in in a Satin version from the Design 55 store. Dimensions: Diameter: 12 cm. Depth: 15 cm. Cord: 230 cm transparent with on/off switch.
